Audrey Vanhaudenhuyse

Audrey Vanhaudenhuyse, PhD, is postdoctoral researcher at the Belgian National Fund for Scientific Research (FNRS). She's working as neuropsychologist in the Coma Science Group of the University of Liege. She has outstanding expertise in clinical and fMRI evaluation of disorders of consciousness patients. During her PhD, she proposed to adapt resting state as well as active tasks paradigms in fMRI to assess the conscious processing in severe brain injured patients. She also studied the importance of the used of sensitive tools to behaviorally detect signs of consciousness in non-communicative patients. She's currently focusing on the development of clinical and paraclinical markers of consciousness in order to improve the diagnosis as well as the prognosis of vegetative/unresponsive and minimally conscious patients, specifically by studying resting state in fMRI and DTI markers.
