Caroline Schnakers

C.Schnakers@student.ulg.ac.be PhD student, graduated as a neuropsychologist from the University of Liège and joined the Coma Science Group in 2002. She has been deeply involved in the validation and teaching of the Coma Recovery Scale-Revised within the federal network on VS and MCS and has recently developed a freely available DVD for educational purposes on the diagnosis and assessment of chronic disorders of consciousness. She was also trained to use the Sensory Modality Assessment and Rehabilitation Techniques (SMART; a specialized behavioral tool for VS and MCS) at the Royal Hospital of Neuro-disability, London. She also has an expertise in electrophysiology and investigates its interest in the detection of early signs of consciousness in coma survivors.
