Andrea Piarulli

Andrea Piarulli got his master’s degree in Electronic Engineering in 2007 at the University of Pisa.

Since then he has worked as a research fellow at Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies, Pisa on the development of algorithms for EEG analysis with a special focus on conditions of altered or absent consciousness (sleep and disorders of consciousness).

In 2015 he obtained a PhD in Perceptual Robotics at Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies, Pisa and began his collaboration with Coma Science Group.

His main research interests include the characterization of different state of consciousness (with a special focus on disorders of consciousness) investigated by EEG applying different approaches including the application of complexity theories, cortical source reconstruction techniques and connectivity analyses.

He is currently a full-time Post-Doc researcher at Coma Science Group.
