Pierre Boveroux
Pierre Boveroux MD (2002), Specialist in Anesthesia & Reanimation and in Intensive Care Medicine (2007), PhD student.
The subject of his PhD thesis is: “Pharmacological modulation of conscious perception”. This study aims to better understand (un)consciousness and the precise action of the anesthetic agents.
As a member of the Coma Science Group of the University of Liège since October 2007, he works closely with S. Laureys and colleagues on the various aspects of objectively studying consciousness, using electrophysiology and functional imaging, including fMRI and PET. His primary interest lies in apprehending the fMRI patterns observed in comatose patients, in particular vegetative state patients and minimally conscious state patients.
